Isaiah preaches: to feed the hungry, to shelter the homeless, to clothe the naked and to love our brother. He says that if we live like this our light will shine! St. Paul speaks of the weak. He shows how we should accept our weaknesses and depend fully on God. Jesus asks us not to lose our saltiness and to shine our light. As Catholics, when we help others, when we clothe the poor or feed the hungry, we shine our inner light, which God has given us. And while living like this we make even others' lives better, being the light of the world we can give light to others. But in all this it is important to acknowledge our own weakness and trust fully in God. Jesus reminds us that we are the salt of the earth. What do we think that means? Jesus wants us to improve the quality of life of those we meet, by showing them that having Jesus in our life is like having salt in our food.
